# DVXtract

DVXtract is a Windows application for analysing Emerson DeltaV FHX export files and extracting selected objects into a new FHX file.

DVXtract is developed and distributed by Mavabé Technical Consultancy B.V., trading as Batch-A.

## INSTALLATION

DVXtract is supplied as a portable application and does not require installation.

1. Extract the complete contents of the DVXtract ZIP file to a folder of your choice.
2. Keep DVXtract.exe and all supplied DLL files together in the same folder.
3. Run DVXtract.exe.

Do not run DVXtract directly from inside the ZIP file.

DVXtract is supplied as a self-contained application. A separate installation of the Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime is not required.

## LICENSING

DVXtract requires a valid licence.

Licences are supplied separately as a DVXtract.lic file and are normally valid for one year from the date of issue.

When DVXtract is started without a valid licence, it will prompt you to select a licence file.

You can also replace or update a licence from within DVXtract.

The selected licence is stored in the user's application data folder and does not need to remain in the DVXtract program folder.

Licences are not tied to a specific computer. Use of DVXtract remains subject to the terms in LICENSE.txt.

## USING DVXTRACT

1. Start DVXtract.exe.
2. Select an FHX file using "Open File".
3. Browse or search the objects found in the file.
4. Select the objects that you want to extract.
5. Use "Select Dependencies" where required to include referenced objects.
6. Select "Export Selected" to create a new FHX file containing the selected objects.

Always review generated FHX files before importing them into a DeltaV system.

## SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

* No DeltaV installation is required for analysing FHX files
* No internet connection is required for normal operation or licence validation

## IMPORTANT

DVXtract is an independent Batch-A product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Emerson Electric Co. or its affiliates.
